A Personal Message from Leonard E. Cox, Attorney:

concerning family law, probate, preparation of last will and testament as well
as directives to physician, adoptions, divorces, guardianships, expunction of
criminal arrest records, criminal cases (State or Federal), personal injury,

Fees are set based upon many factors following an office consultation. In
general this firm will accept clients on an hourly pay basis or a contingent fee
bases. This firm offers a Last Will and Testament package for $500.00 per
person. The package includes a will, a guardianship designation, a
directive to physicians and a power of attorney. If the documents need to
be customized to fit your needs, the fee can increase, but you will be informed
in advance. This firm uses written employment contracts signed by the
client and the attorney before any charges are incurred by the client and before
the attorney undertakes representation. Hourly rates range from $300.00
per hour to $350.00 per hour depending upon many factors which will be discussed
and reduced to writing in a Legal Services Contract.
When a person embarks upon the process of selecting an attorney to represent them in their legal matters, it is quite often a difficult task. I suggest that you should visit with several lawyers before you decide whom you will hire. You should hire a lawyer who will handle your case personally, one who is not too busy to return phone calls and one whom you get along with and trust. After all, this lawyer will probably handle your most important affairs. Personally, I value long term relationships with my clients. I have no desire to be hired today and never think about that client tomorrow, so to speak. Most of my clients value this ethic and want to maintain a long term relationship with a stable, knowledgeable and caring attorney. By the same token, I prefer a client who values this kind of service. Even though I was born in 1954, I still remember physicians making house calls. I have been known to make a house call or two. It is the kind of practice I value and I always feel privileged to represent a client who values that kind of service.
Finally, I am quite often asked: "What kind of cases do you handle?"
Usually I respond with the following: "I don't take cases, I
represent clients. You may have a really bad case and be a great client.
I'll will undertake representation." In short, after practicing law
since 1981, after being expose to some really great lawyers and jurists, after
having read more law than I can remember and after being exposed to more areas
of law than most attorneys see in forty years of practicing law, I believe I can
handle most types of cases that your average person or average family owned
business will encounter. And, if I cannot handle it, I will make that
decision quickly, and refer the case to an attorney I suggest and thereafter
selected by my client with no charge by me to the client.
